I have learnt a variety of drawing and mark-making techniques
in this project; which include: colour pencil on black paper, brusho ink &
bleach, colour pencil on textured white acrylic background, colour pencil on
newsprint and card etc., Sgraffito, line drawing, drawing with: paint, pencils,
biro, pastel. Drawing different angles & close-ups of object in different
media. Some of these techniques are new to me, such as Sgraffito & Line
drawing.
I used pencil for the object in 3 types of mark-making and
for most other drawings I used colour pencil.
I think the 4 studies on different backgrounds were effective.
The colour pencil stood out well on the black paper and newsprint. However, it
was hardtop draw onto the white emulsion.
The Sgraffito drawing was effective because the colours really
stood out where the paint was scratched off and even if mistakes were made on
the piece it still would look attractive and mistakes may not be noticed.
I think my homework studies were very successfully. I spent
enough time on all of them and took my time with them to get them as detailed
as possible and as best as I could get them; the same with all my work.
I think I may have improved my observational drawing skills
because the course has been practise for me and I have learned to draw quicker
and still with a good result. I think I managed my time well as I have
completed all my work in time and have not rushed and I still had time to
improve things after, that may not be completed entirely.
I have produced the best outcomes possible by managing my time
and working hard with each drawing to make them as detailed as possible and use
a lot of different techniques and media.
Other techniques I would like to try might be pointillism or
drawing abstract art.
Overall I enjoyed this project and I think it went really
well and I did my best on each drawing and was happy with them all and managed
my time the best that I could.
