We created some backgrounds on pieces of paper, cotton and calico using brusho inks.
When they dried, we did screen printing onto the backgrounds that we created, using screens containing images of objects from the workshops.
We placed a sheet of paper/cotton/calico under a screen. Then, rolled paint over the top of the screen a few times pressing firmly and hard to make sure the paint goes threw the screen and onto the material - creating a print from the image on the screen.
When a screen is used a few times, the image gets clogged with paint so we had to wash each screen at least once with the pressure sprayer.
After the pieces dried, we used the gutta to outline the patterns and/or add detail.
Last we put all our work & previous work from last lesson in our own folder with our names on them.
Next week I need to add more detail with the gutta to some work because we ran out of time last lesson.
